The pristine pastures of the Falkland Islands are some of the most natural in the world, unaffected by the farming practices commonly used in the Islands. Livestock graze on native coastal tussac, greens and, inland, on vast "White Grass" pastures.

'Camp', a term given to the area outside the capital, consists mainly of 83+ farms, along with a total sheep population of 500,000+ that make up the countryside.

The average farm in the Falkland Islands stocks 5,000 - 7,000 sheep on 13,000 hectares, providing very low stocking rates. The result is mouth-watering Falkland's lamb that has, until recently, only been available to the lucky Islanders.

The Falkland Islands Meat Company is now sharing this once well kept secret with the rest of the world.
